Rethink Communications

Along with some SMA kids, I spent the entire afternoon downtown at Rethink Communications. I’ve personally never heard of it untill the tour we went to today, but it’s a small Vancouver-based Ad Agency and they do lots of advertising for companies such as A&W, Solo Mobile, Coast Capital, BC Lions..and tons more! But anyway, we had a mini tour of their office, met some accounts services people, and learned alot about how they worked as an advertising agency.

Reception

Their board room table is a ping pong table.

They have this “ping pong theory” that if you throw 5 pingpong balls at someone, they’re most likely not going to catch any, but if you throw 1 pingpong ball at someone, they will catch it. It can be applied the same way to “ideas”. If you throw a bunch of ideas at someone through an ad, they most likely won’t remember/catch the point of the ad. If you throw just one idea at them, they will remember it.

A drumset in the middle of nowhere (apparently, they have live bands come in and play for them once a month)

But yeah! not your typical office scene for sure.
